PAPER TALKS: Odisha FC have held talks with Mohun Bagan for Liston Colaco

Liston Colaco is on the verge of leaving Mohun Bagan after 2 years with the club, as 90ndstoppage reports. Liston joined Mohun Bagan in 2021 from Hyderabad FC for a record transfer fee that time. Liston, started his career in Salgaocar, Moved to HFC from FC Goa where he had a dream season, which earned him a move to the Oldest club of India. Liston's career couldn't have started in a better way as he scored some brilliant goals in his first season. Liston's season highlight came against Basundhara Kings, where he scored a hat-trick. Last season didn't gone well for Liston though. He just scored 1 goal in 20 appearances for the club.

Due to poor run of forms he was dropped from the starting eleven from Indian NT too. This season, after the appointment of Sergio Lobera, Odisha FC started to show genuine interest in Liston. He assured Liston, he will help him to comeback to form. With signings like Thapa, Cummings, Sadiku, Sahal it looked like a starting spot at Mohun Bagan is very much difficult at the moment, where, in Odisha Liston can play as a guaranteed starter. The deal was very advanced last month, where the player reportedly agreed terms with Odisha. But, Odisha were reluctant to meet Mohun Bagan's demand that time, and it seemed like the deal was stalling.
Odisha later signed Puitea from Mohun Bagan by paying club-record transfer fee.

But, it seems like, now both the parties are very close to reach a conclusion on this month old transfer saga. As very reliable source 90ndstoppage.com first called, per them, it seems discussion is indeed very advanced.

90stoppage also quoted one source saying “Liston’s much anticipated move out of Mohun Bagan SG is finally shaping up – the talks between both parties are at an advanced stage, he’s expected to make a move to Odisha – subject to contract details being finalized between the two parties (OFC & MBSG)”

Liston Colaco has played for Mohun Bagan 61 times, where he has scored 18 goals and provided 12 assists.
Liston became the first ever Indian footballer to score a hat-trick in AFC Competitions when he scored three times against Basundhara Kings. In his first season itself, he was awarded the prestigious Shibdas Bhaduri Award (best Men's Footballer) by Mohun Bagan.
