To increase the attacking prowess from the midfield, Mohun Bagan Super Giant has roped in Dejan Dražić. The Green-and-Maroon brigade has signed a two-year contract with this Serbian footballer who has been playing brilliantly in India for the last two years. He is arriving in the city on Wednesday as the first foreign footballer of this season. Primarily playing as an attacking midfielder, this experienced thirty-year-old footballer can also play on the left wing, if needed. Besides orchestrating goal-bound attacks from the midfield and delivering pinpoint passes, he has also scored a lot of goals in his football career. Dražić's pairing with Brazilian Miguel Figueira in the midfield could become a major asset for Mohun Bagan Super Giant's midfield this season.
Apart from playing in the UEFA Champions League, the Serbian SuperLiga and La Liga with a good reputation, he has also played for FC Goa for the last two years. Besides scoring six goals in the Indian Super League last year, Dražić also provided two assists.

"ভারতে আসার আগে থেকেই কলকাতা ডার্বি সম্পর্কে শুনেছি। এশীয়ার অন্যতম সেরা ডার্বি এটি। আই এস এল খেলার সময় দেখেছি এই ম্যাচ নিয়ে ক্লাব সমর্থকদের আবেগ এবং উন্মাদনা থাকে। এটা একটা বিশেষ অভিজ্ঞতা হবে। যে কোনও ফুটবলারের কাছেই স্বপ্ন থাকে এরকম ম্যাচ খেলার। আমিও এই উত্তেজনা উপভোগ করতে চাই। কলকাতা ডার্বির উত্তেজনা এবং পরিবেশ দেখার জন্য মুখিয়ে আছি।"

" ভারতে আসার আগে আমি ভারতীয় লিগ সম্পর্কে খুব একটা জানতাম না। কিন্তু এখানে আসার পর এবং আই এস এলে খেলার পর অবাক হয়েছি ভারতীয় ফুটবলের পেশাদারিত্ব দেখে। খেলার মান ও ফুটবলারদের দক্ষতা দেখে খুশি হয়েছি। প্রতি বছরই লিগ আরও প্রতিদ্ধন্দ্বীতামূলক ও উত্তেজক হয়ে উঠছে।"
"লেফট উইং আমার ফেভারিট জায়গা। সেখান থেকে ভিতরে ঢুকে গোলের বল বাড়াতে আমার খুব ভাল লাগে। তবে অ্যাটাকিং যে কোনও পজিসনে আমি খেলতে ভালোবাসি। আমার সবসময়ই লক্ষ্য থাকে দলকে সাহায্য করা। সেটা করাই আমার কাজ হবে। তা যে পজিসনেই খেলি।"
