After winning the ISL Cup last Saturday, the Mariners were eagerly waiting for the RFDL final. After beating Jamshedpur in the Semis, Bagan reached their maiden RFDL final, and, they were to face a very strong reserves side Classic FA, who are known for producing Gems.
Deggie Cardozo's boys showcased the same mentality as the seniors were showing throughout the campaign. They started the final in the perfect way, as, Darjeeling born left Winger Pasang Dorjee Tamang aka Saurav found the net with a mesmerizing finish in the 8th Minute of the game. The goal was a recreation of the famous Liston Colaco shield winning goal in 2024, when Liston scored in a 2-1 win over Mumbai.
The rest of the match was a Pasang show, where he doubled Mohun Bagan's lead in the 23rd Minute. Taison found Pasang in open space and Pasang did no mistake in scoring his second of the afternoon.

Mohun Bagan's prodigy Taison showcased again why he is touted as the next big talent. Players like Priyansh, Umer, Leewan, Shibajit, Tongsin, Serto all played their part tonight, and, ISL experienced left back Amandeep led the side like a true captain, guiding Mohun Bagan to this historic feat.
Coach Deggie Cardozo's name will be etched in Mohun Bagan's history, as, he became the first ever Mohun Bagan coach to lead the club to the national level glory in a reserves side tournament. Deggie has not only delivered success on the pitch, but, he has scouted and nurtured some gems who can serve Mohun Bagan for a long period of time.
There is a club in Kolkata, who, claims themselves to be the best youth side of the country, but, Mohun Bagan always prefers to answer on pitch, and, tonight, by winning the RFDL campaign, they have made sure , who are the best youth side of this country.
Mohun Bagan have also qualified for the prestigious PL Next Gen Cup, where Classic FA and FC Goa have also qualified.
