EXCL: Mohun Bagan are in advance negotiation with Naorem Roshan Singh, Mehtab amongst options at Bagan


After winning the ISL shield and qualifying for the ACL 2 Mohun Bagan are back in the market to make improvements in their already strong squad.

As revealed earlier, Mohun Bagan has made their priority this time is said to be a versatile side back who can play as a Left back, right back, Wing backs and occasionally as a Winger too. 

The player is none other than the Bengaluru FC star Naorem Roshan Singh, who is a Right back but primarily features as a Left back. Mohun Bagan sees Naorem as the long term successor to Subhasish Bose, who has recently signed a 2 year extension with Mohun Bagan, as Exclusively confirmed by MBFT.

Naorem Roshan Singh has one year left in his Bengaluru FC deal and it is well known he will be available in the market for the correct price and, MBFT understands, Mohun Bagan wants to use the market opportunity to lure 'NRS' out of BFC, whom they rate very highly.

MBFT understands, Mohun Bagan are currently in advanced negotiations with Naorem Roshan Singh for a potential movement in Summer, and, the player is very happy with the project Mohun Bagan has offered.

After the departure of Anwar Ali, Mohun Bagan were close to agree a deal with Pritam Kotal and Alex Saji last year but they backed of at the last minute knowing a certain player for Punjab will be available in the market next season.

They were correct indeed, as, Mumbai City's talisman Mehtab Singh's current contract is nearing expiry and both the parties haven't came close to an extension agreement. Mohun Bagan rates Mehtab highly, as the Indian international has performed well in ISL consistently and won lots of titles at Mumbai. He has also represented Mumbai City in ACL with current Mohun Bagan player Apuia Ralte.

MBFT can exclusively confirm, Mohun Bagan are keeping an close eye on Mehtab, and, if the player decides to leave Mumbai, Bagan will be there waiting for him.
