Mohun Bagan have secured the Alberto Rodríguez Martín deal from Persib Bandung!

Mohun Bagan have secured the signature of experienced Spanish Centre-back Alberto Rodríguez Martín from Persib Bandung in a multi (1+1) year deal, MBFT can exclusively confirm.
Alberto Rodriguez, who had plied his trade in various leagues across the world namely La Liga 2 and Indonesian League, will join the mariners on a free transfer. Rodriguez, who was contracted with Persib for one more season, had reportedly terminated his contract with the Indonesian Champions to Join the Indian Super League Shield winners.
Rodriguez, who spent most of his career playing in Spain, made his first move out of Spain, when he joined Indonesian Champions Persib Bandung. In his first season outside Spain, he played an incredible season, where he helped Persib finish runners up in the regular season and made them champions in the playoffs. He was also named in the Indonesian Liga 1 team of the season.
A physically strong and tall defender, he is known for his defending skills in wide spaces. His physical attributes help him to win ball of the strikers and defenders easily. His heading and goal scoring skills are also evident in the set pieces.
The last season he played in Spain was in 2022-23 season in La Liga 2, in that season he played 36 matches while keeping 10 cleansheet, scoring 3 goals and having almost 5 clearances and 1 interceptions per game.
Mohun Bagan, who are building their team, keeping in mind the ACL 2 participation can surely rely up on Alberto Rodriguez to deliver the defensive goods for the team. He will replace Brendan Hamill in the squad and will be the Fifth foreigner of the season alongside Jamie Maclaren, Dimi Petratos, Jason Cummings and Tom Aldred.
