TACTICAL ANALYSIS
Coach Panos has a greater arsenal at hand in terms of domestic players at his disposal for the match. With a longer gap between the semis and final, the players are fit and ready to face the rivals, unlike Durand Cup Final. Dejan Drazic, who has been clinical for Mohun Bagan, will get his first derby start as well.The players will be able to close down the midfield in Sacchi's modified formation with two central defensive midfielders and force the ball to the sidelines where wing-backs will double-up with defenders to transition from defence to attack.
We have long-ball accurate pass providers in Samir, Miguel, Bheke and Alberto and up front, one-on-one specialists, Chhangte and Lee can hold the ball, dribble and shoot from distance.
EBFC has two new foreign strikers both of whom scored in the previous match against NEUFC. Coach Habas prefers to increase numerical superiority to catch the backline off-guard. The center-backs, Alberto and Bheke have their work cut out for them but with loads of experience and support of CDM's, they should be able to hold their ground.
As long as Coach Panagiotis believes in his philosophy and deploys a simple plan that is easy for the players to execute, he can secure the win and defend the Shield title.
