This shows how competitive Indian Super League is.Mohun Bagan somehow managed to retain the top spot of the table with 13 points despite drawing their heated battle against BFC, while Jamshedpur FC lost their first match of this season against NEUFC. Andy shined in this match, scoring a brace for the Highlanders. Kerala managed to draw in added time against weary EBFC who looked clueless in the match as the latter got the lead from a penalty that was offside at first. 10-men Mumbai City FC won against Inter Kashi FC in a closed-door match, a feat that Punjab FC couldn’t match this week resulting in them settling for a point despite an early lead, levelled soon after Effiong head-butted a player and saw Red.
With just 5 matches played in GW 5, Mohun Bagan is the table topper with 13 points, followed by JFC with 12 and Mumbai City FC with 11. FC Goa’s draw puts them at 4th position with 9 points, followed by EBFC and BFC with 8 points. NEUFC jumped up to 6th with 6 points after their win this week. PFC, with 1 match less played, and Inter Kashi both have 5 points each with 8th and 9th spots respectively. CFC stands 10th with 1 match less played whereas Odisha FC’s match against SC Delhi also got postponed which settles them in the 11th spot with 2 matches less played than most of the other teams. Kerala registered their first point against EBFC and that boosts them upto 12th and SC Delhi stands 13th with 1 point as well (1 match less played). The last spot is taken by Mohammedan SC whose match against CFC got postponed as well. They are yet to register a point this ISL.

Vishal Kaith made incredible saves, using his face to block Ryan Williams’ shot early in the game. With 4 total saves and a clean sheet this week, he now has 50 clean sheets as a Mariner.Bijoy Varghese of Punjab FC made 14 defensive contributions: 3 tackles, 10 clearances and 7 recoveries. Due to his performance, 10-men PFC drew against FC Goa. Alberto Rodriguez stays in the Best XI after another phenomenal performance against BFC. He was the playmaker this time, playing 78 passes with 94% accuracy and 8 accurate long balls out of 11. He also took 3 shots, out of which 2 were on target! Rahul Bheke still has his strength in him at this age. Along with Chinglesana, he made sure top scorer Maclaren couldn’t find the gaps and score. He made 7 defensive contributions, 5 clearances, 3 recoveries and won 100% of ground duels(3). Subhasish Bose, Captain of Mohun Bagan, delivered 43 passes with 91% accuracy. He dribbled past 4 players at ease once in the game and played 1 key pass. He also defended well by standing as an obstacle in front of Ryan Williams and his side, narrowing BFC's chances to score. As the left full back, he gave a performance that should get his name in the National Team list.
Andy scored a brace for NEUFC resulting in a win in their first home match against tough opponents JFC. His goals were a sight to watch - a memory for the NorthEast! Rashid, on the other hand, played 54 accurate passes and 5 defensive contributions missed 1 big chance from 2 shots taken which went wide. He was all over the field, trying to connect and progress the ball from defense to offense and enable Miguel. Both wingers, Noufal and Chhangte scored for MCFC. As for Parthib Gogoi, he played a different role for NEUFC. He dribbled past defenders with ease and nutmegged players twice. Not afraid to play solo, he broke JFC's defense time and again with accelerating runs. This performance gets him into the Best XI of GW 5.
Effiong of Punjab FC scored an amazing curler against FC Goa. His passing needs improvement but no complaints in his terrific finishing form. He will be missing the team's upcoming match as he saw Red after head-butting Pol Moreno at 48'.

The blockbuster match has to be Mohun Bagan vs Mumbai City FC on Friday evening. Both contenders to the title are still unbeaten and stand 1st and 3rd in the ISL Table respectively. MCFC will miss their right back Valpuia owing to a Red Card, whereas Mohun Bagan might miss out on key players due to injury concerns.
