Mohun Bagan exploring summer move for Abdul Rabeeh, Star Winger might depart Mohun Bagan!
Last year, when Mohun Bagan were taking with Hyderabad FC for Alex Saji, MBFT hinted Mohun Bagan were talking with HFC for another player.
In January, 2025, we exclusively revealed, Mohun Bagan are exploring a Summer move for Hyderabad FC right Winger / right back Abdul Rabeeh. Mohun Bagan were looking for a winger who can if needed cover as a side back and a wing back too in both the flanks.
MBFT EXCL: Mohun Bagan have a long term interest in Abdul Rabeeh and they are extensively scouting the player. A move in January is unlikely but Bagan will continue to scout him as they like the versatility of the player.

Now, as revealed by IFF News last night, MBFT can confirm, Mohun Bagan are in the market for Abdul Rabeeh and they are already exploring a possible deal for the 24 y/o right winger.
As per our sources, deal is not yet done, but, constructive talks are continuing between both the parties.
When the Rabeeh news is coming as a welcoming surprise, many fans will be heartbroken to know, Ashique Kuruniyan has a chance of leaving the ISL winners as he has offers from elsewhere. Mohun Bagan and Ashique, both the parties agrees Ashique deserves regular game time in ISL; and a move away from Mohun Bagan is being explored.
UPDATE : Mohun Bagan signed Ashique Kuruniyan on a 3+2 year Deal from BFC. The +2 was a mutual agreement, where, if both the parties agreed, Ashique's contract was supposed to be renewed till 2027. However, after the Super Cup, Ashique was looking for a fresh long term deal with Mohun Bagan, but Mohun Bagan didn't want to commit a long term future. Hence, Ashique decided not to trigger the extension.
Now, Ashique is moving to Bengaluru on a Free transfer. The player has signed a long-term deal with BFC.

Mohun Bagan sees Abdul Rabeeh as more of an attacking player, and, MBFT can confirm, Mohun Bagan are seeing this Rabeeh deal as a attacking inclusion. The Abhishek Singh and Mehtab Singh deals are separate from these and Bagan are going strong in the market with a view to secure all of their top targets.
