Mohun Bagan Super Giant's U17 team are determined to flourish their talents in the next round of AIFF Youth Elite League after an inspiring campaign in Dream Sports Championship. Despite falling short in the final against Punjab FC, our U17 lads earned a praise for their spirited performance throughout the tournament and reaffirmed the club's youth development system.
Drawn into a competitive group, Mohun Bagan’s young guns started strong, defeating Reliance Foundation Youth Champs, Chennaiyin FC and Dempo SC with commanding performances. With a blend of sharp attacking play and tactical maturity, they topped their group and reach the final.

Up against a dominant Punjab FC in the final, Mohun Bagan U-17 put up a good fight but were left wanting by clinical finishing by their opponents. Punjab FC scored an early goal by Shubham Gurung, followed by Ashish Lohar's second-half strike; they sealed a 2-0 win. Despite trying hard, the mariners failed to break through a resolute PFC defense.
Goalkeeper Nandan Roy impressed with a string of wonderful saves, denying a greater margin and proving himself to be one of India's rising shot-stoppers.

They boys are now making themselves well prepared for the Youth League's next round, which is going to begin in the first week of May. They previously won the league's regional round with 28 points from 10 matches where they scored 24 goals and kept 8 clean sheets. Coach Biswajit Ghoshal did a remarkable job leading the squad in Dream Sports Championship in Deggie Cardozo's absence due to RFDL. There is great opportunity for these young Mariners to shine brighter in the upcoming stage of youth league.
