Jamie Maclaren is a prolific Australian striker currently spearheading the attack for Mohun Bagan Super Giant. A clinical finisher and the A-League's all-time record goalscorer, Maclaren joined the Mariners in 2024, bringing immense pedigree and international experience to the squad.
Early Career & Development
Raised in Sunbury, Victoria, Jamie’s talent was evident early at Green Gully. At just 15, he earned a contract with Blackburn Rovers in England after a trial that included a hat-trick against Manchester United. He refined his craft in their youth system for four years before returning to Australia.
Professional Journey
His career took off at Perth Glory and exploded at Brisbane Roar, where he became an Australian A-League icon. Following stints in Germany (Darmstadt 98) and Scotland (Hibernian), he returned home to join Melbourne City. There, he became a legend, winning five Golden Boots and captaining the side to multiple Premierships and Championships.
Breakthrough and Success
His move to Melbourne City in 2019 solidified his status as one of Asia's most lethal strikers. He became the first player in A-League history to score five goals in a single match and set a record for the most goals scored for a single club in the league's history.
National Team Highlight
A pillar of the Socceroos' frontline, Maclaren has represented Australia at both the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. His international career is marked by incredible efficiency, including hat-tricks in World Cup qualifiers against Nepal and Bangladesh.
Playing Style
Maclaren is the quintessential "fox in the box"—a striker defined by world-class movement, anticipation, and the ability to finish with both feet or his head. His tireless work rate and intelligence in finding space make him a constant threat.
