Aryaan Banerjee is a 20-year-old student pursuing studies in Computer Science, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence, with a strong passion for sports data, analytics, and statistical research, particularly in football.
Deeply interested in understanding the game through numbers, Aryaan focuses on football data analysis, archival research, and statistical documentation, combining technology with historical research to preserve and analyze the rich legacy of the sport. Since joining MBFT in November 2023, he has been actively involved in building and maintaining detailed statistical databases and archival projects related to Mohun Bagan’s football history
As a Statistician at MBFT, his work includes:
Creating the 2024, 2025 Annual Statistical Wrap, featuring goals, assists, attendance figures, and season comparisons.
Building a complete Mohun Bagan squad database with unique player codes for every season since 1889.
Developing AIFF Junior League (U13 & U15) season wraps, including match data, head-to-head records, and top scorer statistics.
Creating the “Dimi100 Project”, a detailed statistical archive documenting every major performance milestone of Dimitri Petratos.
Leading the “I-League Era” archival project, compiling match reports, head-to-head records, manager statistics, and top goalscorer data from 1996 onwards, using newspapers and limited digital archives.
Updating and improving Mohun Bagan Wikipedia pages (2012–2025) and multiple player profiles with verified statistics.
Creating new historical season pages (2007–2012) on Wikipedia with structured statistical information.
Developing a dedicated Mohun Bagan youth season page for 2025–26, documenting squad details, match data, and statistical records.
Through these projects, he continues to develop expertise in data management, data collection, statistical analysis, and sports data archiving, working towards bridging football history with modern data analytics.
