ISL is back this year in full form after a gap year. Mariners will flock in numbers to the stadium tonight to be in support as the 12th Man. They want to watch beautiful football. The coach and players must deliver!
Both Dejan Drazic and Lalianzuala Chhangte are extremely talented goal-hungry players. Limiting them to the attacking half will give Bagan desired results. You cannot score goals without the potential goalscorers in their rightful position.
While the team struggles to score goals, he continues to stick on his philosophy that his best attacking weapons at hand are better utilized in defence. He complained on how 26 shots didn't result in any goals against NEUFC. I'll have you know out of those 26 shots, just 6 were on target! No goals from 6 shots on target is quite normal when you have your potential goal scoring players defending half of the time. And thos e 20 shots off target is no surprise either.
Let's discuss a bit about what Coach Panos said in the pre-match press conference. Apparently, he thinks that Chhangte as LWB is the way to go! His idea is that no position is fixed in modern football and the whole team has to move up and down together. If the team fails to do its job in either zone, the whole system collapses like a 'Domino'.

The last time the Mariners filled the stands at VYBK was almost 3 weeks ago. It was the IFA Shield 2026 Final against arch rivals EBFC. We defeated them 1-0, where Samir scored the winning goal and we lifted the prestigious trophy twice in a row! Drazic performed through bone and blood and brought the trophy home.
Mohun Bagan is back at the iconic VYBK for their first home match this ISL season. After the first two away games, from which Bagan managed to accumulate 3 points with 1 loss vs NEUFC due to last minute conceded goal and 1 win vs SC Delhi, 2 goals scored by Miguel and Lee to complete the 2nd half comeback.
