"আগামীকাল আমাদের জেতা উচিত" - সাউথ ইউনাইটেড এফসি-র বিপক্ষে ফোকাসড কোচ প্যানোস

Ahead of Mohun Bagan's second group league match in the Durand Cup against South United Football Club, Head Coach Panagiotis Dilmperis addressed the media, emphasizing the team's need to maintain focus and respect for their opponent.

When asked if South United FC is an unknown entity, the tactician was clear about his expectations. "Tomorrow is a game that we should win," he stated. "First of all because we are still in the process of the group about Durand Cup. On the same time there are some questions that we have to answer tomorrow. Basically how we will adopt the style of playing that we want to play. And the second thing is the mentality."

Dilmperis emphasized the importance of not underestimating anyone. "Good teams respects the opponents, whoever is he. And with confidence, of course, because we are Mohun Bagan, but at the same time, we should be focused and concentrated from the first second. These are questions for me that I settled to the players and they have to answer tomorrow since the first second of the game."

Regarding the strategy for the match, the coach anticipated a defensive setup from the opposition. "I guess it will be a game that the opponent will be compact back and we have to attack, we have to organize our attacks, we have to go from the sides but at the same time the other actions that we have to have is from the middle," he explained.

He further elaborated on his tactical demands: "We have to create multiple chances and finish, and at the same time we have to press high and don't let the opponent breathe, give us the ball and start again. The defending transition is crucial. When we lose the ball, what's gonna be our reaction? And I think there will not be enough space for attacking transition, but even if there's no space there's also for the quality that we have I want to see my players if they will manage to have attacking transition as well."

On the topic of squad rotation and forced changes, especially with midfielder Apuia missing in training, Dilmperis confirmed alterations to the lineup. "Yeah, we will do some changes because of the needs of the game and also because in these three games of the group of Durand Cup, we want to see all players playing." He also confirmed that foreigners Alberto and Drazic, who missed the starting XI in the Derby, are ready. "Yeah, they will be there," he assured.

Following their Derby victory, Dilmperis was asked what mistakes he wants to avoid repeating. He stressed that every match presents a unique challenge. "They are different games. It's so different that, at this moment I told you the thing that I want to see is how the players understood during these two weeks what exactly we want to do, especially about attacking."

Finally, the coach dismissed any pressure to score a massive number of goals just because rivals East Bengal recently won by an 8-goal margin. "No, no, it has nothing to do with this," Dilmperis asserted. "I am more focused on creativity. I am more focused on the four phases of the game, how we react there. Of course scoring goals, but I said, if I start saying that we have to score goals or comparing us with other teams, no, it's us. It's us. We want to create chances, score goals of course, with a lot of respect to the opponent."
