The Valentine's Day Clashes ft. Mohun Bagan
Valentine's Day is widely celebrated as the Day of Love, and India is no different.
Mohun Bagan is our first love, and Mohun Bagan have provided us with some lifetime memories on this special day.
- The Neroca Clash (2019)
In 2019, Mohun Bagan hosted Neroca FC in an I-League game. In an afternoon kickoff at Kalyani, Mohun Bagan registered one of the most dominant performances in the recent era.
Mohun Bagan scored 6, where Fran 'The Boss' Gonzalez scored a First Half Hattrick.
Mohun Bagan convincingly secured the I-League title that season, the 5th in our history.
- The Clash against Goa (2024)
In 2024, Mohun Bagan travelled to Goa, when Goa were the table toppers and Coach Antonio Lopez Habas was trying to steady the ship. Bagan won just 1 of the last 5 games (1 D, 3L), and, to win the shield, they had to beat Goa.
Antonio Lopez Habas masterclass and debutant Dippenu's unbelievable shift against Noah made sure the Goa attack stayed calm.
Mohun Bagan were in search of an opportunity, and, when Dimitri 'DimiGod' Petratos got a loose ball from outside the box, he sensed an opportunity, and he scored a world-class goal, ensuring Bagan takes the 1-0 lead.
Mohun Bagan's turnaround started that day, FC Goa eventually finished 3rd, as Mohun Bagan in the last game week secured the ISL Shield for the first time, making the club Record 6th time League Champions.
Today, we start another campaign on Valentine's Day.
