Mohun Bagan defeated a struggling kerala Blasters FC away at Kochi, 3-0 thanks to delightful display of personal efficiency from the Australian Marksman, Jamie Maclaren and a goal from the Spanish devil Alberto Rodriguez Martin.
With his win Bagan are at the top of the League table with 49 points from 21 matches and if all things go as well, a win in the next match against Odisha FC would confirm that the league shield is coming to Kolkata for a second consecutive season, thus becoming the first ever team to retain the League shield since it’s inception.

Though, Kerala played one of the best matches of their present campaign yesterday in front of their home fans, they were still no match for the mariners. They displayed a attacking and high-pressing brand of football from the very beginning, but once Mohun Bagan started keeping the ball, they toyed with Kerala Blasters left and right.
Even on the day, when the Mohun Bagan players are not typically at their best, they still won the match with a 3 goal margin a clean sheet, which shows the quality and commitment of the team. Mohun Bagan is well and truly depicting “THE GALACTICOS ERA” in ISL.
Statement victory at Kaloor as we're just one win away from out most coveted League Shield victory. Joy MohunBagan!!! 💚❤️

Now, let’s look at the player ratings on how they performed in the match ➖
VISHAL KAITH ➖ 8/10
Was adjudged the “Player of the Month” for January for his courageous display on the field and he maintained his form in this match also. Saved a thunderous close range header from Jesus Jimenez in the early minutes of the match and kept another clean sheet. His clean sheet tally moves to 13, a record for most clean sheets kept in the League Stage as well as in overall.
DIPPENDU BISWAS ➖ 7/10
The young defender had not much to do from his side, as the main threat, Noah Sadaoui was already out with injury. Did his defensive duties well, but sometimes was out smarted by the pace of the attackers from his side. Pretty Clean and straight game from him.
TOM ALDRED ➖ 7.5/10
The Silent Warrior on the field. Maintained his Defensive line and produced another clean sheet. Did well in keeping the trio of Jesus Jimenez, Kwameh Peprah and Adrian Luna quiet for almost the entirety of the match.
ALBERTO RODRIGUEZ ➖ 8/10
Solid, solid performance from the veteran defender in keeping the backline at check. Topped off a solid performance with a goal and that corner flag kicking celebration.
SUBHASISH BOSE ➖ 8/10
Captain Bose at it Once again. Proving why he has been the best left back of India for the past few years. Solid performance throughout the match and yet another clean sheet in the bag.
APUIA RALTE ➖ 6.5/10
The Metronome, be it shielding the ball or winning it from opponents to making progressive passes, he has done it all. Perfect outing from the jersey number 45.
DEEPTAK TANGRI ➖ 6.5/10
Was given his usual dirty duties at the middle of the park which he passed with letter marks. His passing from the middle was also impressive.
MANVIR SINGH ➖ 7/10
Manvir was a bit silent today compared to other outings, focused on his defensive duties more than his offensive duties, was subbed off later in the 2nd half with a minor injury.
JASON CUMMINGS ➖ 7.5/10
Taking up the role of a second striker cum Central attacking midfielder is no joke for a player who plays a fox in the box striker. His individual quality is single handedly creating chances for Bagan in absence of greg stewart and dimi petratos. His calibre was evident from the pass that led to macca’s second goal, where he took out the defense with just a trivela kind of touch.
LISTON COLACO ➖7.5/10
Showed why he is trusted so much by Molina on the left flank. Absolutely Brilliant, all attacks Bagan created were from his side. His movement and dribbling created the chance for the first goal of the match. Absolutely Phenomenal.
JAMIE MACLAREN ➖ 8.5/10
The GOAT macca. Simple yet effective football. His finishes describes how much great footballer he is. He reached double figures for the side despite starting late in the campaign. Sadly, couldn’t complete his Hattrick.

SUBSTITUTES ➖
ASHIQUE KURUNIYAN ➖6/10
Was brought in place of injured Manvir, but couldn’t impact the match heavily.
ABHISEK SURYAVANSHI ➖6/10
Brought on in the later moments of the match. To increase control over midfield, which he successfully did.
DIMI PETRATOS ➖6/10
Brought on for creating something meaningful , but sadly couldn’t contribute much. Created a few chances but not enough to trouble the defenders.
SUHAIL AHMAD BHAT ➖6.5/10
Was brought in to gain some playing time under his belts. Made a few pacy and mazy runs. Almost created a chance that could have completed the Macca hattrick, who missed by a whisker.
