It is all down to the wire again at VYBK, the stadium which has given so many reasons of joy to the Mohun Bagan faithfuls, will be the hotspot of an epic footballing encounter once again as Mohun Bagan will host Odisha FC in a do or die semifinal clash on Sunday. The stadium that witnessed the most number of attendance in a non-derby match when Mohun Bagan beat Mumbai City FC in the ISL league shield decider match, are expected to be fully filled again to back the shield winners, but this time the motto would be motivate them to cross the semi-final hurdle against Odisha FC and set-up a first ever ISL final at the VYBK against the winners of semi-final 2.

Mohun Bagan will go into the match as the undoubted favourites with great backing from the supporters, but they will be up against a resilient Odisha FC spear-headed by Sergio Lobera. Mohun Bagan, who has recently lost the first leg at the Kalinga stadium will be facing a uphill task to overturn the deficit. With the away goals rule not being applicable , Mohun Bagan must score 2 goals within the regulation time to proceed to the ISL season 10 cup final , or score at least a goal to take the match to extra-time.

Mohun Bagan started the first leg in a flashy manner as they took the lead as early as in the 3rd minute, but Odisha, who are unbeaten at home in ISL had other script and turned the match in the first half as goals from Carlos Delgado and Roy Krishna put them in the driver's seat. Dimi Petratos, who has been in top form for the mariners missed few golden opportunities to put mariners back into the match. The misery for Bagan continued as Armando Sadiku was given marching orders early in the 2nd half. The parity in numbers were soon restored as Carlos Delgado was also given the marching order. But Bagan couldn't take the advantage of the situation. Later on, the wonder boy Kiyan Nassiri was thrown into the fray to do something miraculous, but it came of no use.

This season , whenever these 2 sides have faced each other, it has been a tough competition with beautiful football on display. But this time, the stakes are much higher than ever, Mohun Bagan, who had assembled an avenger-esque squad before the starting of the season, faced the first humiliation of the season at the hands of Odisha FC and that too at the VYBK, and that loss resulted in crushing of Mohun Bagan`s biggest target of the season , winning the ‘AFC CUP’ . With domestic trophies like Durand cup and ISL league Shield in the cabinet of Mohun Bagan , they will try and grab the ISL cup also , thereby completing the domestic treble. On the other side, it would be Odisha FC, who showed glimpses of brilliant football all throughout the season and will be in search for their first ever ISL Cup trophy and with nothing to loss for, they will give it all on the pitch.

This match will also embark a new journey for fans of kolkata as MBSG management has arranged for drinking water in all of the ramps of the stadium.
