Mohun Bagan are on the verge of qualifying for the CFL Super Six round. We have two big matches ahead, one against Mohammedan Sporting and the other against Dimond Harbour FC. If we win one of them. we'll head into the Super Six, as we need only 2 more points to confirm our spot.

Emami East Bengal, Mohammedan SC, Diamond Harbour FC, Bhawanipore SC and Kidderpore SC are already qualified for the Super Six. Our arch rivals were pretty strong and consistent throughout the CFL League phase. From the very beginning, MDSC were mixing their seniors and juniors in the league. Wheres EEB used their junior team along with some of their irregular first team starters in CFL such as Souvik Chakraborty, Tuhin Das, Gursimrat Singh Gill, Sarthak Golui.
But there is a Twist. As per reports, they are going to field their 7/8 Senior Team players for the Super Six matches. As per the reports of Sangbad Pratidin, Emami East Bengal have already registered some of their senior players for CFL e.g, Harmanjot Singh Khabra, Mahesh Singh, Lalchungnunga, Prabhsukhan Singh Gill. So we all can understand that they will go all out for CFL title.
Mohun Bagan's stance:-
Previously Mohun Bagan had no plans to field their Senior players in CFL. But now many things have changed with time. Previously, management thought they are going to give our Junior players as much game time as possible in CFL. Through CFL they will try to make a good pipeline of young talent for the future. But now, many of Mohun Bagan's important junior players are in the National Duty. Such as Suhail Bhat, Sumit Rathi, Hnamte, Arsh Anwer Sheikh, Thumsol Tongsin. On top of that, there is fan pressure.
Mohun Bagan's motto has always been 'Win it all'. So CFL is not so different in this regard. For these reasons and to win final two tough league games, Mohun Bagan Management decided to register some senior players for the remaining CFL games. As per report of Sangbad Pratidin Vishal Kaith, Glan Martins, Liston Colaco and Deepak Tangri have already been registered in CFL. We might see them play in the next game against Mohammedan SC on 14th September.
We, fans should be very proud of our junior players that they almost made sure that we are going to the Super Six of CFL. And kudos to Bastab Roy who has a big contribution on that. Hope we could win the CFL this year.
