In a high-voltage Semi-Final clash, Mohun Bagan made an epic comeback from one goal down and entered the final of the Durand Cup in style where they will meet their arch-rival Emami East Bengal.
Mohun Bagan coach Juan Ferrando along with Armando Sadiku joined the Post Match Press Conference.
Juan Ferrando on the game :
“Today’s match was difficult for the players. They played four days ago. Most of the team was tired today. But they continued to work hard. They were able to change the score in our favour because they have the personality and because they want to play the final.
In some moments, we weren’t the best team on the pitch. It is difficult to play so many matches in such short time. But the schedule is not in our hands.”
Juan on facing East Bengal again :
“For me the most important is the recovery of the players. We play the final on Sunday. After recovery, we’ll prepare for the final. Currently, it’s not possible to speak about the final’s opponent because we are thinking about our team.”
Juan Ferrando on Revenge :
“No. This is just a pre-season tournament for us. It’s important to check different players in different positions, to check some details about our system. My job is to prepare the plan, help the players and try to win the trophy.”
Juan Ferrando on the refereeing :
“If we are talking about the referee, we can say that there were few fouls which were not given to us and this is why they scored their first goal.
When we played in Goa, Kauko got injured but referee said it is not a foul. Sometimes referees take difficult decisions. It helps sometimes, sometimes it doesn’t. If Manolo thinks he is not in the final because of the penalty, I would prefer to say I have more problems than to talk about one referee.
Armando Sadiku expressed a few in the PC :
(On revenge) “Personally, yes. The first derby was my debut at Mohun Bagan and I played very bad. So, I need a revenge. I will give my best to score and win this trophy.”
(On the GOAL) "Look, I'm a striker, my foot is good you know. So, I try everytime. I'm a good guy, I give everything for my team. Sometimes in defence, attack. I try to give my best always. Sometimes, I don't score, but I try to give my best for the team. As the goal came, I'm very happy but more happy because my team got the win."
(On the Celebration) The Celebration was for my 2yr Son. I was happy and I dedicated that to him. I miss him nowadays and I hope to see him very soon. I hope to score a lot of goals for my son as well as my team.”
“It was a very good game for me but sometimes my best don't show up. Today I scored and now I hope fans keep supporting and like me more (laughs)”
